Despite appearances in an Ethan Hawke production and other stinkers like Josie and the Pussycats, Rosario Dawson has earned stability in the entertainment industry through her sheer acting talents. This girl is going to be around for a while -- if The Adventures of Pluto Nash couldn't kill her career, nothing will.
By her 23rd birthday, and a mere eight years into her professional acting career, Rosario Dawson already had more than 10 movies under her belt. Rendering this feat all the more impressive is the fact that roughly half of these movies performed miserably at the box-office, and she still has a career to speak of. Judging by the caliber of the films that Rosario is slated to perform in next, her earlier blunders will soon be little more than a distant memory. So how exactly did Rosario Dawson pull off this escape act and emerge unscathed from her rookie mistakes? Well, she's indebted in part to some lazy publicity reps. With the exception of Josie and the Pussycats, most of the projects that the unseasoned Rosario was involved in arrived as quietly as they disappeared: the releases of movies like Light It Up, Down To You and Side Streets were mere blips on the radar. But give Rosario Dawson the credit she deserves; her raw talent shined through in even the most mediocre of films, whereas Usher (her co-star in Light It Up) saw his foray into acting end as quickly as it began.
