Singer Christina Aguilera
Latest Wallpapers & Biography

Date of Birth: December 18, 1980
Birth Place: Staten Island, New York

Christina Aguilera likes to think of herself as hoty -- and her former Stripped image certainly reflected that. But being hoty is not only about wearing revealing clothes, it's about attitude and personality -- traits often associated with maturity and life experience.

Like any young lady, however, Christina did experience a burst of maturity and left that raunchy "Dirrty" image behind. She reemerged in 2006 a newlywed and a more refined singer and performer with Back to Basics. With classier clothes to show off her curves and less makeup to let her true beauty peek through, Christina matured from an overly sexualized teen, to a jaw-dropping hoty woman.

Christina Aguilera
Latest Wallpapers & Mini Biography

Date of Birth: December 18, 1980
Birth Place: Staten Island, New York

Christina Maria Aguilera was born on December 18, 1980, to parents Jim, a military father of Ecuadorian descent, and Shelly, an Irish professional violinist/pianist. Growing up with her brothers and sisters in Wexford, Pennsylvania, Christina always knew that she wanted to be a performer. In her early 20s, this blond-haired, blue-eyed beauty got more than she bargained for.

Her career as a singer started when she began performing at her school's talent shows. She took her soulful voice to the Star Search stage, (like her singing counterpart, Britney Spears), and performed on national television. The next time she performed in front of a live audience was when she sang the national anthem for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins.

Christina's success was almost instantaneous. Her first single, 1998's "Reflection" from the Mulan soundtrack, which was released before she ever even recorded her first full-length album, peaked in the top 20 on the Adult Contemporary Singles Chart, and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song in 1998.

The first single from her 1999 self-titled album, "Genie In A Bottle," went to No.1 and her album sales toppled the 10-million mark. The album also earned her the Best New Artist award at the 2000 Grammys.

After the release of Christina Aguilera, the songstress released the ever-popular "Lady Marmalade" single with Pink and Lil' Kim in 2001 (which nailed No.1 on the charts), put out Stripped in 2002 (which sold more than 10 million albums worldwide), and released Back to Basics in 2006 (which sold more than 3.5 million albums worldwide).

At the age of 12, Christina landed a coveted spot on the popular variety show The Mickey Mouse Club as a Mousketeer, with fellow cast mates Britney Spears, Keri Russell, J.C. Chasez, and Justin Timberlake.

After her two-year stint on the show, Christina traveled to Japan in 1998, where she recorded a duet with Japanese star Keizo Nakanishi, and later toured in Japan.

Her next public performance was at the Golden Stag Festival in Transylvania, Romania, joining Sheryl Crow and Diana Ross.

As if overnight, Christina became a star. It all started when she sent a demo tape to the producers of the Disney animated feature Mulan after she was invited to audition for the part.

All the studio needed to hear was her home-recorded demo tape, in which Christina sang karaoke to Whitney Houston's hit "I Wanna Run to You," and the studio executives knew that they had found the wide-range voice they were looking for.
