Scarlett Johansson has always held aspirations that reach far beyond the big screen, ambitions that have led her to a modeling career in which she's appeared in ad campaigns for Calvin Klein, Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana. She's also been an active political campaigner for Barack Obama. But Johansson has devoted the most time outside the film industry to her burgeoning music career. The songstress released her debut album called Anywhere I Lay My Head, which was entirely made up of Tom Waits covers and received lukewarm reviews at best. Her second disc was a collaboration with Pete Yorn called Break Up, and again received mixed reviews. Luckily for us, Johansson won’t be quitting her day job any time soon. After appearing as Natasha Romanoff in Iron Man 2, Johansson is set to reprise her role as the antihero in both the Nick Fury and The Avengers films.

"Being a movie star is a quality that somebody sort of embodies, and being a celebrity is something that people recognize in you. I just hope to make good movies."

Scarlett Johansson
Wallpapers & Mini Biography
Part-2

Date of Birth: November 22, 1984
Birth Location: New York, New York

Woody Allen -- who's directed Scarlett Johansson in three separate films -- famously called the actress "sexually overwhelming." Woody, we couldn't agree more. Everything from that smoky voice (no, her throat's not sore) to her famous cleavage (often called the best in Hollywood), drives us absolutely bananas, and makes ScarJo one of the most desirable women in the world. It’s no wonder she’s landed on virtually every list of the hottest women on the planet, and was selected “The hottest Woman Alive” by Esquire magazine. Aside from her good looks, Johansson has also demonstrated a capacity for intelligence and wit, which also led Allen to call the actress wittier than he is. She is, then, the ultimate catch, and there’s only one man on the planet who will get to experience the natural wonder for the rest of his life. Ryan Reynolds -- who married the actress in 2008 -- we’re not worthy.

Scarlett Johansson, on the other hand, has used her physical prowess to her full advantage. Her performances in films like Lost in Translation, Girl With a Pearl Earring, Match Point, and Vicky Cristina Barcelona just to name a few, have taken full advantage of her status as sex symbol, while also showcasing Johansson’s considerable acting skills. With already four Golden Globe nominations to her credit, and a BAFTA award for her performance in Lost in Translation, Johansson has proven time and time again that she is one of world’s most talented young actresses. She’s also tried her hand at big budget popcorn flicks like The Island and Iron Man 2 proving that she’s got both brains and balls.

Scarlett Johansson
Wallpapers & Mini Biography

Scarlett Johansson, born on the 22nd of November, 1984, in New York City, has an older brother and sister and a twin brother. She divides her time between New York with her father, a building contractor and Los Angeles with her mother, who looks out for her interests there. She's the only actor in the family, something she's wanted to be since she was three. Her acting career began when she was eight in the off-Broadway production of Sophistry with Ethan Hawke at New York's Playwrights Horizons.

Before Megan Fox ascended Hollywood's Mount Sex Symbol, Scarlett Johansson could easily lay claim to the title of sexiest woman in Tinseltown. Both women are symmetrically gifted, blessed with full red lips and feminine curves that make the boys say "whoa." But their goddess-like features are where the similarities end. While Fox tries to resuscitate a film career that seems dead in the water, Johnasson continues to rack up roles with some of Hollywood's most acclaimed directors, while adding countless acting awards to her already impressive resume. Still only in her mid-twenties, Johansson has managed to transcend her status as sex symbol, on her way to becoming one of the most respected young actresses in the industry. Now if only she weren't married...
