When Kiera Knightley was cast as Padmé Amidala's decoy in -
Star Wars Episode I : The Phantom Menace, it was due to her close resemblance to Natalie Portman, who played Padmé. It was a thankless role that saw Knightley -- then unknown -- act as a glorified body double to one of the world's biggest stars. One charming indie sports movie and one of the highest grossing trilogies of all time later, and Keira Knightley was second fiddle no more. After Pirates made her a household name, Knightley found success again in the British comedy Love Actually but suffered a string of flops that included the overblown epic King Arthur, and forgettable thrillers Domino and The Jacket. It wasn't until she was cast as beloved literary icon Elizabeth Bennet in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice that Knightley enjoyed the unanimous critical success that eluded her throughout her career. She was subsequently nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes, and has since enjoyed similar corset-oriented success in films like Atonement, and The Duchess. With a slew of films on the way Knightley's career is officially in overdrive, and her youthful abandon and keen fashion sense have made her a veritable fashion icon -- a position cemented when she was named the face of Chanel's perfume Coco Mademoiselle in 2006.
